Environs of Cavriglia
Cavriglia is a very peaceful town where Erboli Residence is located, just a few kms far from the town centre. Cavriglia is in the countryside at the beginning of the Chianti region and close to the Valdarno Valley.
Cavriglia has been inhabited since Roman times and has plenty of hitorical sights and churches, the Pieve (parish church) di San Giovanni Battista (XIth century) with the Museo dell'Arte Sacra, the church of Santa Maria (XIth century), the church of San Pancrazio (Xth century) in Borgo a Casignano. The Roseto Carla Fineschi (1967), a rose garden, is worth visiting along with the Parco Naturale di Cavriglia, a famous regional park and a zoo.
Cavriglia has got a supermarket (Coop), two bars and a theatre where lively vernacular plays are often performed all year round.
The "Roseto" Carla Fineschi has been one of the most famous attractions in Cavriglia since 1967. It's a large rose garden where more than 6000,00 kinds of roses are grown and displayed. Rose bushes can be admired just walking along the paths in the garden.
The Parco di Cavriglia is a very beautiful wide park (600 hectares) in the hills where kids can see different kind of wild animals and have fun in a wonderful countryside. It's also an ideal place to go picknicking or barbecueing in some equipped areas or walking along footpaths. You can relax at the Parco while kids have fun in recreation grounds or watch animals.
If you want to have an outgoing or just a walk in the countryide, go to Montegonzi village (Borgo di Montegonzi) and take in some stunning views across the valley, to Castelnuovo dei Sabbioni, or to San Cipriano lake.
